The City will do the sanitation of flooded areas in Novo Selo and Donje Medjurovo villages said tonight (30.03.2015.) Nis Mayor Zoran Perisic. Storm water drainage from this area would have been much easier if we had completed earlier projects. However, although for the pumping station in the Industrial zone the pumps were supplied to it, the electricity has not been brought there yet, and it is not finished collector "Vineyards", which now literally pours into the fields, said Perisic. He adds that according to the project of the Directorate for the City construction of the city it takes more than half a billion dinars, but promises that the City will do everything to help the residents of the two Nis villages.

The situation in the flooded areas hazardous to health,said in Ntv Nis tv show the Director of the Institute of Public Health, prof. Dr. Branislav Tiodorović. After the conclusion of Palilula Assembly to ask the City staff for emergency situations to declare an emergency state in the flooded areas of this municipality, it was only followed by a negative response by Prof. Dr. Zarko Rankovic, deputy president of the City staff, along with a statement that the situation is not critical and there is no legal basis. MRAMOR AND MRAMORSKI POTOK - LOCALS MEDICAL EXAMINATIONS

Health Centre Nis `House of good health` in the cooperation with Palilula Municipality continued with the action `Coming close to the patients`, in rural area of Palilula, in the villages that do not have an ambulance.On Sunday, 29 March, medical examination of 56 locals of Mramor and Mramorski Potok was organized. Doctors had 33 examinations in Mramor village and from that number 14 in patients houses and in Mramorski Potok 23 examinations - 9 at home. Patients were examined with taking their medical history; clinical examination; ECG at home; blood sugar level, providing expert advice in relation to treatment of chronic diseases. Especially were analyzed the old, less mobile and immobile patients.

DISTRICT COMPETITIONS HELD IN
TECHNICAL EDUCATION SKILLS AND LANGUAGES

In primary schools "Sreten Mladenoviić-Mika" and "Kole Rasic," that are working on the territory of Palilula, there were two district contests in knowledge of technical education and foreign languages organized. These competitions gathered more than three hundred students and teachers. Teachers from primary schools in the administrative district of Nis had been preparing the students who are in their communities showed the best results in these subjects. Elementary school "Sreten Mladenovic Mika" was the host of district competitions in technical education.

Due to weather activities it was carried out in a covered hall of primary school "Kralj Petar I" which is not as originally it had been planned in Memorial Park `Bubanj`.This action is created as a sort of scout salute to spring and it is the first major gathering of Nis fledglings and bees this year. Fledglings and bees competed at the training ground skills, knowledge of road signs, scout quiz, relay, memory game and in several other field games designed for their age.

SUBMITTED INSTITUTE REPORT ON EXECUTED CONTROL

Palilula Municipality has sent a request to the Institute for Public Health Niš, March 17 for the sampling of wastewater, soil and drinking water from flooded areas of Novo Selo, Gornje i Donje Međurovo and Belotinac villages (municipality Doljevac). The report on the inspections carried out on a flooded territory was delivered to Palilula Municipality on Monday 23 March. As stated in the report, signed by Dr. Lazar Bošković, Director of the Center for Hygiene and Human Ecology and Prof. Dr. Branislav Tiodorović, v.d.direktor of the Institute, the samples in this series are treated in the volume of '' A review ' by all parameters that are available in the Institute of Public Health Niš.

LOCALS STOPPED WORKS ON DRAINAGE CHANNELS

Residents of the Rudarska street in Novo Selo, on World Water Day March 22, stopped the digging of the channels for which the order was sent to "Company for Roads" issued by the management of the City of Nis. The channel is supposed to carry water from the flooded areas in the sewer of Rudarska street but the citizens objected because the local sewage has low capacity.Sewage in Novo Selo village, due to the small falls, particularly are problematic side streets, hardly receives atmospheric water. The area flooded with outpouring of groundwater, the situation is the most difficult, especially in the part of the street dr Sava Petrovic.

CONCERNED FOR WATER RESOURCES - WORLD WATER DAY- MARCH 22

At the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development (UNCED) in 1992 it was proposed to determine March 22 as the date when shall be annually celebrated the International Day of freshwaters. Assembly of the United Nations accepted the proposal and from the beginning of 1993 this day has been celebrated by diverting attention and emphasis on various aspects of freshwater.
The UN report points out that the water resources are constantly decreasing due to population growth, pollution and climate change. In the next 20 years, the average amount of water that people use will be less disposed to third.

HEALTH CENTER TEAM NIS IN LALINAC

Health Centre Nis `House of good health` and Palilula Municipality continued with the action "Coming close to the patients" in rural area of the municipality in villages that do not have an ambulance buidling. Within this action, on March 22 with medical examinations were covered villages Lalinac and Krušce. In Lalince were checked 17 inhabitants and 4 at home and inKrusce 15 more patients and one at home. Physicians provided services taking their medical history, performing a clinical examination, ECG at home, checking blood glucose, giving advice in relation to treatment of chronic diseases. Especially were analyzed the old, less mobile and immobile patients.

`GET CLOSER WITH PATINETS` ON EVERY WORKING DAY

Health Centre Nis in the cooperation with Palilula Municipality, organized on every working day from Monday 16th March in the period from 08:30 to 11:00 hours, the action "Coming close to the patients." On Monday March 16 the team of doctors of the Health Center was in Pasi Poljana. 42 people were examined in the premises of the Local community building and four in their homes. In the village Cokot, on March 17 has been checked 21 patients and 4 patients at home. In village Lalinac were carried out 20 medical examinations in the premises of the Local community buidling and two medical checks in home conditions.

REQUEST TO THE INSTITUTE FOR PUBLIC HEALTH NIS

Because spilling of sewage system or septic tanks and inflowing of wastewater from the city landfill into arable land, on the flooded territory of the municipality, the Palilula Municipal Council, at the Assembly session, which was held on Monday 16 March, expressed the concern about possible infection.Concerning is also the fact that a large area of vegetable crops is flooded with sewage disposal.
On this occasion, Palilula Municipality has sent an urgent request of the Public Health Institute in Nis for wastewater sampling, soil and drinking water from Novo Selo, Gornje i Donje Međurovo, and Belotinac (Municipality of Doljevac). Samples in this series will be examined in volume of A examination according to all parameters that are used in this Institute.

HANDBOOK FOR EMERGENCY STATE CONDUCT

Sector for Emergency Situations of the MUP Serbia - Ministry of Interal Affairs with the support of the OSCE, published earlier this year, "Family manual for behavior in emergency situations", which is apart from Serbian printed in minority languages in English.The Handbook presents all the protective measures and picturesque descriptions of how to behave when fire breaks out, in the case of floods, earthquakes or other disasters. Manuals are in Serbian, published in Roma, Albanian, Hungarian and English. Head of the Sector for Emergency Situations Predrag Maric said that the manual should be distributed through local government and urged local authorities to take that obligation. He pointed to the lack of safety culture in Serbia and wondered why children in schools learn that there are earthquakes and rivers, and do not learn how to protect themselves from an earthquake or floods.

Novo Selo, Međurovo, Bubanj villages, since last week have been under water. About 300 households have been flooded. For some, the water entered the yard and basement, crossed the doorstep and flooded arable land. For solving the problems the pumps are involved in an industrial zone, and we are searching for lasting solution to this problem. Although the Municipality of Palilula has asked to for a part of its territory, which was flooded and threatened by landslides, to be declared an emergency, the City staff for emergency situations has not made that decision. According to the deputy commander of the headquarters for emergency situations there is no legal basis, and the City of Nis has enough resources to answer to these situations.

In the villages of Palilula: Donje Vlase, Berbatovo and Vukmanovo last weekend doctors of the Health Center in Nis were closer to patients. Health mission within the action "Coming close to the patients," according to the interest of the the inhabitants of mountainous areas of Palilula Municipality, was very successful. PAINTINGS OF SCHOOL STUDENTS "BUBANJ" ON EXHIBITION

In the gallery Art 55, from 13 to March 17, was organized an exhibition of art works by students of school and Boarding school "Bubanj". The exhibited works were created between 2013-2015 in the technique of drawing, pastel, watercolor and tempera, during the lessons of fine arts and the art section. More than a hundred houses in Novo Selo village are surrounded by water that threatens to exceed at any moment at their very doorstep. It is suspected that this is about ground water, after heavy rainfall. Water is on both sides of the tracks, towards commercial zone Međurovo, appeared at the end of December last year and now it's even worse.
